Is People Driven Credit Union the same as “Peoples Community Credit Union”?
No — our official name is People Driven Credit Union (PDCU). We know some folks say “Peoples Community Credit Union,” but that has never been our legal name. We’ll still respond if someone uses it, because the mix-up comes from our merger history.
Quick history:
- Peoples Trust Credit Union merged with Automotive Federal Credit Union to form Community Driven Credit Union.
- In 2014, MPG Community Credit Union merged with Community Driven Credit Union.
- As part of that 2014 merger, we adopted the name People Driven Credit Union.
If you see “Peoples Community Credit Union” out in the wild, it’s likely referring to us — but the correct name is People Driven Credit Union (PDCU).
