To place a stop payment on a check, log in to online banking on the website and click “Stop Payments,” visit a branch, or call People Driven Credit Union at 844-700-7328 during business hours. A stop payment request can only be placed on a check that has not already been paid or certified.
To help us process your request, be ready to provide accurate check details, such as your account number, check number, exact amount, and any other information needed to identify the item. The more complete the information, the better the chance we can stop the payment before the check is processed.
A stop payment request fee may apply. For checks, a written stop payment order is generally valid for six months unless it is renewed. If you make a verbal request first, it is generally valid for 14 days unless confirmed in writing. If the check has already cleared or the request is received too late to act on it, the stop payment may not be effective.
